Two Alpine School Courses in 2025!


Alpine Development School (ADS) April 6 - 13, 2025 at the VMT Lodge in British Columbia.

Perfect for advanced skiers/snowboarders with moderate backcountry experience. Ready to take your ski touring to the next level? This course is for you. 


Alpine Finishing School (AFS) April 26 - May 3, 2025 at the helicopter-accessed Selkirk Lodge outside of Revelstoke, British Columbia.

Ideal for advanced skiers/snowboarders with extensive backcountry experience and high fitness levels. Ready to tackle your own objectives in big mountain terrain? This course is for you. 


 

NEW! Alpine Development School (ADS)

April 6 - 13, 2025 at the VMT Lodge in British Columbia

The Alpine Development School is perfect for participants who are excellent resort skiers/snowboarders with some backcountry experience.


Taking place at the snowcat-accessed VMT Lodge, this course is led by ACMG ski guide Jasmin Caton. It's designed to help you progress your skills in a supportive environment, covering topics like avalanche rescue, risk management, and terrain identification.


The ADS offers an excellent preparation ground for those considering the Alpine Finishing School in the future. Our goal is to help you build confidence and self-sufficiency in the mountains. Our Eventbrite page has lots of FAQ!


 

Alpine Finishing School (AFS)

April 26 - May 3, 2025 at the Selkirk Lodge outside of Revelstoke, British Columbia

Celebrating its 12th year, the Alpine Finishing School is a seven-day ski mountaineering course designed for advanced backcountry skiers and splitboarders. Hosted at the breathtaking Selkirk Lodge in British Columbia, this course provides a unique opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills under the guidance of ACMG-certified leaders Kate Devine, Christine Feleki, and Shannon Werner. 


Participants will delve into topics such as terrain management, glacier travel, crevasse rescue, and more. As Katie, a past participant, shares: "What separated this course from others was the curriculum and the women who both led and attended the course. The challenge and the instruction were top-notch, and the camaraderie was unparalleled."

About the Lodges: 

Selkirk Lodge: The helicopter-accessed Selkirk Lodge is located outside of Revelstoke, British Columbia and run by Owner, Operator, and Head Guide Kate Devine. Perched at  7,200 ft in the Albert Icefield area east of Revelstoke, Selkirk Lodge is a backcountry skiing paradise. Valhalla Mountain Touring (VMT) Lodge: The snowcat-accessed VMT Lodge is located just north of Valhalla Provincial Park in the Selkirk Mountains of British Columbia and is run by Owner, Operator, and Head Guide Jasmin Caton.  The VMT Lodge is a touch of luxury, nestled deep in the Kootenay wilderness. (Lower Left Photo)
