At SheJumps, we believe that the outdoors is a transformative space, rich with opportunities for growth, courage, and connection. Our mission has always been to create accessible pathways for women and girls to engage with nature and experience its empowering benefits. Thanks to the support of our passionate community, we’re excited to share the impact of the past year in our 2023-24 Annual Report, which reveals the powerful outcomes achieved through regional volunteer efforts across the country.
Making Outdoor Dreams a Reality, Together
This past year, SheJumps reached new heights. From fundraising over $1 million to expanding our programming, each milestone reflects our unwavering commitment to equity in the outdoors. But the true backbone of SheJumps is our incredible team of regional volunteers—dedicated individuals who donate thousands of hours to make these programs possible. Their work doesn’t just help women and girls gain skills; it transforms their lives.
6,275 hours were volunteered last year, with 419 community volunteers stepping up alongside our core volunteer team.
Volunteers led 79% of our events, engaging over 3,600 participants in activities ranging from beginner wilderness skills to advanced avalanche education.
60% of SheJumps volunteers have committed over three years to our mission, a testament to their dedication and belief in the importance of accessible outdoor spaces.
Regional Impact: Local Efforts, National Reach
From the Pacific Coast to the Northeast, our regional teams brought SheJumps’ mission to life in unique and impactful ways. Here’s a glimpse of the regional impact:
Pacific Coast: With 93 events and 1,885 participants, this region led the way in reaching new audiences, offering everything from surf clinics to nature hikes.
Intermountain: Known for its mountainous landscapes, the Intermountain region hosted 41 events, engaging 780 participants in activities that connected them to nature’s rugged beauty.
Far North: Our Alaska-based team organized 13 events, fostering a deep connection to the Alaskan wilderness for 319 participants through workshops that included wilderness art, hiking, and environmental stewardship.
Each region plays a critical role in our national mission by tailoring programs to meet local community needs. This grassroots approach means that wherever you are, SheJumps is there to create outdoor experiences that welcome and empower you.
Volunteers: The Heart of SheJumps
Our volunteers are more than event organizers; they’re mentors, community builders, and advocates for a more inclusive outdoors. These committed individuals understand that a single outdoor experience can spark confidence, inspire new skills, and ignite a lifelong love for nature. They embody SheJumps' core values, working tirelessly to bring our mission to life at the local level.
Through their efforts, SheJumps provides programming that transcends outdoor skills. Our volunteers help participants develop life skills and confidence, showing that the courage built on a hiking trail or during a ski descent can extend into every area of life. This year, we’re grateful for their dedication, which has made our vision possible.
Looking Ahead: Join the Movement
As we celebrate the impact of this past year, we’re also looking ahead. Our goal is to ensure that all women and girls, regardless of background or ability, can access the outdoors in their local communities. With the help of our community, we’ll continue to break down barriers to outdoor recreation, expand our programming, and strengthen our DEI efforts. Here’s how you can be part of this movement:
