For International Women’s Ski Day (IWSD) on January 20, SheJumps NorthEast joined in on the lady shred celebration with a day of skiing, demos, raffles, apres games, and movie night at Sugarbush Resort in Warren, VT. Despite a few wind constraints early and some blown-off snow, the sun made for a great day of festive skiing and boarding. 42 rad women from Vermont, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and beyond trekked up to central Vermont to participate–decked in a rainbow of tutus, giraffe and unicorn accessories, full-body sparkle, and all the brightest colors.
Reps Kelsey and Charna from K2 Skis welcomed SheJumpers with open arms and a wealth of knowledge and tips for selecting appropriate skis. Jumpers were able to demo a range of ski models from K2 throughout the day–and one set was raffled off to a lucky winner during the apres-ski raffle. After a bright day of skiing and snowboarding, the group came back together for some BINGO, a raffle of swag from our awesome partners, and sweet snacks compliments of Munk Pack protein cookies.
As the sun went down the crew settled in for the world premier of Finding the Line, a new movie about skiing and overcoming fears with the support of fellow females by Anns and Nat Segal. The movie capped of an invigorating day of camaraderie with some inspiring words and stunning, snowy scenery as the Segal sisters shared their experiences about overcoming outdoor challenges and pursuing goals.
Thank you to everyone that came out! Thank you to all the volunteers, group guides, ambassadors, and directors that came out to help and support this event! All of these events are made possible by our amazing partners, K2, Dueter, Ecolips, Treeline Coffee, Darn Tough, COOLA, Mountain Khaki, Western Rise, Pret Helmets, and Munk Pack.
