Welcome to the Board of Directors: Kirsten Duke. We’re excited to have you and learn more about you.
Q: Tell us a little about yourself.
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest spending my youth skiing in the mountains and sailing around the San Juan Islands and neighboring British Columbia. I attended University of Washington, where I earned bachelor degrees in both Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting and French Linguistics. I'm currently is the CFO, overseeing the finance, legal, human resources, facilities and administrative functions at a Seattle based Cyber Threat Intelligence Company. When I'm not working at my day job or on SheJumps initiatives, I'm either running, rebalancing my chi with yoga and pilates, or chasing my three daughters with her husband around the mountains.
“I am so excited to be a part of SheJumps who’s mission is near and dear to my heart. I love getting outside and pushing myself out of my comfort zone and I want my three girls to grow up experiencing all the awesomeness that the outdoors has to offer!”
Q: Place of work, title, location.
A: DomainTools, CFO, Seattle WA
Q: Why did you join SheJumps as a board member?
A: I love getting outside and pushing myself out of my comfort zone and I want to provide opportunities and experiences for all women and girls to experience the awesomeness and positive life changing potential that the outdoors has to offer!
Q: What goal of the SheJumps 5 year Strategic Plan is the most important to you?
A: All of them are incredibly important to me, but #1 is where I can help provide the most impact with my professional background. I see #1 as the crux of being able to continue to provide the other 3 on a long term basis.

A: I hope to make an impact on goal #1 so that we can continue SheJumps for years to come!

Now, it’s time for the lightning round:
Q: Outdoor activity of choice (pick one, two if you must)?
A: So hard to choose but if I must skiing!
Q: Who inspires you to go outside and why?
A: My three daughters!
Q: Where is your favorite place to go outside or on an adventure?
A: Mountains or water
Q: How has the outdoors benefited your health and overall physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing?
A: Outdoors has always been a huge part of my life and has shaped the person I am today. Whether sailing in the PNW as a child in rough seas, camping for 3 months throughout Morocco and France, skiing or climbing mountains in the rain in Washington state, all these experiences and more have helped teach me to be strong and persevere through life when things get tough.
