Wooo! The evening of December 2nd at evo in Seattle we had our first Avalanche Awareness class presented by NWAC and it was such a success that we are offering another one on January 6th, 2015! The class was full of eager to learn ladies. For many, this was a refresher but for over half of the girls, this was their first introduction to the world of safe travel and decision making in the backcountry.
The evening started with wine and shopping discounts (what’s better?!) and ended with an awesome class presented by Solveig Waterfall, the amazing AIARE certified teacher and local guide and shredder. She did an incredible job teaching many first comers the basics of avalanche safety. The lecture was also filled with humor that any girl could relate to!
