SheJumps Southeast Ambassador, Cat Wile, organized the Asheville tour stop of Pretty Faces which took place on January 8th. Below is her recap of the hugely successful night!
The Asheville premiere of Pretty Faces was a wild success with a sellout show! The room was filled with many of our generous sponsors as well as attendees of all ages enthralled with the talent of the women in the film and inspired by their contagious spirit. There was laughter, sympathetic “aw’s”, raucous cheers, and much applause!
It was a wonderful event for the outdoor community of Asheville and many people traveled in to be a part of the event! Women came out as a Girls Night, fathers brought their daughters, men came to watch the ladies shred, and large groups of friends came together!
I was especially touched by a father who emailed me after the event to say, “My little girl (5) was CRAZY with excitement for it, and she was super pumped to be a “ski lady” some day, as she said. Really awesome for my girl to not just see great skier women tearing it apart, but also a huge crowd of ladies & gents out to support.”
Everyone was particularly excited about the free ski passes given out by Cataloochee Ski Area and by the stellar raffle prize packages generously donated by so many sponsors. Congratulations to our lucky winners!
The evening raised several thousand dollars to support SheJumps and Girls on the Run of Western North Carolina and our missions of getting women and girls active in the outdoors. It was a great night, and a great way to bring the spirit of SheJumps to North Carolina.
