Standup paddleboarding has exploded as a popular sport in the last few years. It’s a great way to experience the rivers, oceans, and lakes in recreational and competitive ways.
Four ladies came out to try out standup paddleboarding including a mother and her two daughters who had seen a segment about the event on the morning news on the day of the event, Mother’s Day.
We rented our boards from Asheville Adventure Rentals who shuttled us to the put in for a 2 hour paddle back to the shop. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day with clear blue North Carolina skies, high 70 degrees and sun!
A few of the ladies were a little nervous to try paddle boarding on a river for the first time, but quickly found their legs and were paddling around like champs in no time!
Thank you to WLOS-Asheville for featuring North Carolina Ambassador, Cat Wile, on the day of the event to share the details of SUP with Mom and spread the SheJumps mission; to Asheville Adventure Rentals for their continued support of SheJumps; and to Anne, Anna, Carolyn and Stephanie for coming out to play!
