Richmond Kayaking Event Is A Success!

The Southeast had it’s first ever Get the Girls Out event on August 31st! We kicked off the morning with a brief instruction on kayaking basics, taught by the amazing Court of  KAYAKrichmond, and then headed straight out to the James for a full morning of paddling. The weather was absolutely beautiful and the water calm, which made for the perfect morning on the river. All the women got to know each other a little better during the day and even started brainstorming future event ideas!

SheJumper, Alicia Anne Monahan, expressed her excitement for getting more women involved in upcoming events: “We had a great morning paddle on the James River! I am looking forward to more SheJumps events and hoping to help get more women outside playing! I have learned more about myself and life in general from being outside and having experiences and challenges that not every woman gets the chance to have. SheJumps is giving women the chance to experience, learn, support, and boost their self-esteem in an environment that is both comfortable and empowering. It is definitely an organization more women should get involved with!”

Thank you so much to the ladies who came out to support SheJumps, encourage each other, and spend the day outdoors.  And a HUGE thanks to KAYAKrichmond for taking a jump with us on our first event in this region!

Everyone had a great time and was stoked to receive their Vapur Anti-Bottles and Kate’s Real Food Bars!
