Last weekend we had our first AIARE level one avalanche course for eight lucky ladies of the Pacific Northwest! January 28th and 29th the girls met at evo Seattle for two classroom sessions with the amazing Mountain Madness guides, Solveig Waterfall and Laura LeBlanc. The field portion of the course took place on January 31st and February 1st at Mount Rainier National Park where they managed to find snow! The group was greeted with sun and warm weather on Saturday making for a good time all around on day one. It was said that taking the course in a female-specific environment made it feel “more laid back, intimate, and fun!” After the days end, the ladies rearranged a hotel room and had a group yoga session. What’s better than that? Sunday was met with a storm so after the snowy field work they cheered on the Seahawks at the Superbowl at the local watering hole!
All of us here at the Pacific Northwest section of Shejumps are stoked that this course went over so well and we’re looking forward to more in the future!! Big thank you to evo Seattle and Mountain Madness for the support.
