On Saturday, January 21st, over 100 women and girls of all ages attended the third annual Get The Girls Out at Stevens Pass Mountain Resort, just northeast of the Seattle-area.
During registration, our lovely volunteers greeted the women with SheJumps stickers, Treeline Coffee, Eco Lips chapstick, and plenty of delicious fuel for the day in the form of LUNA bars. While some ladies hopped on the lifts to get early laps in before the crowds arrived, others participated in tutu-making in the Pacific Crest Lodge or checked out the demo tents presented by Dakine, Slash snowboards, and FIX bindings.
Starting off a day of smiles, shredding, and camaraderie, SheJumps Washington Regional Coordinator and lady-stoker Yulia Dubinina dressed up in an inflatable T-Rex costume and gathered everyone for a group photo. Splitting into groups based on experience level, the women hit the slopes in full force and enjoyed a fun day on the mountain despite the foggy conditions.

It was awesome to see so many tutu’s all around the mountain!
After lunch, the Stevens Pass Ski Patrol held a beacon search and rescue demo with one of their avalanche dogs, addressing the importance of practicing your beacon rescue skills and brushing up on avalanche safety before you ever venture into the side-country, backcountry, as well as certain avalanche-prone areas of the resort.

The rest of the day was spent riding groomers in dinosaur and unicorn onesies, checking out the off-piste conditions throughout the mountain, having tutu dance parties in the lodge, raffling off some amazing prizes from supporters and partners of SheJumps, and enjoying a day to support and encourage women and girls in the sports of snowboarding and skiing.
