The first ever SheJumps Get the Girls Out fly fishing event was a HUGE success! Thirty women, ranging from 22 to 65, came from across Tennessee to gather in Knoxville for this introductory fly fishing event. This group included five veterans, which we were thrilled to have in attendance!
All the women received shirts designed by the talented Samantha Bild
We had amazing partners on board – without them the event would not have been the success it was!
Samantha Bild and Allen Gillespie were wonderful event organizers and instructors.
The hands on class included instruction on fly knot tying.
Prizes included a Redington fly rod! Plenty of SheJumps gear was also on hand.
Nobody walked away empty handed – goody bags ensured attendees would be well equipped to stay energized and hydrated on a day on the river.
Following the October 17th event, 3 Rivers Angler held a Cheers for Charity event to benefit SheJumps. The “Women’s Fly Fishing 101” participants gathered again with friends and family on October 24th to toast fly fishing, 3 Rivers Angler, and SheJumps!
What would you dare to accomplish if you knew the only possible outcome was success?
We are so stoked to be working with Samantha Bild and 3 Rivers Angler – they really know how to lead an amazing event. Thanks to all the businesses that donated space and gear to allow for such a successful event: Kate’s Real Food, Vapur, Legacy Parks Foundation, Orvis, Patagonia, Redington, Outdoor Knoxville Adventure Center, and Earthfare. You all rock!
The next Southeast fly fishing event is coming up in 2 weeks! Keep your eyes posted for the event posting.
