Get the Girls Out is a national campaign to unite women as they support, challenge, mentor and inspire each other in the outdoor sports world. This event cultivates community for women to have fun, connect with new and old friends AND creates opportunity for women to share the love to ensure younger generations can continue to shred, storm mountains and develop the life skills necessary to succeed on the mountains and in life! SheJumps.org is excited to bring this event to Crystal Mountain again for an amazing day on the slopes.
Pre-Event Registration Options ($5 per sale goes towards future SheJumps Youth Initiatives events): -Buy 1 lift ticket, get 1 50% off (advance online purchase only, by noon the day before) -Buy 1 lift ticket at a $10 discount (advance online purchase only, by noon the day before)
The event is retro-themed and a prize will be awarded to the most creative costume so please ladies, go all out! $10 registration fee for the event, please bring your eventbrite printout or show via phone! We will also have an option to register and get two raffle tickets in advance for $15 and another option of registration and 6 raffle tickets for $30.
If you would like to get a discounted lift ticket ($10 off single ticket, or buy one get one 50% off ($18 off usual day ticket price), YOU NEED TO PURCHASE THESE TICKETS in ADVANCE with Crystal Mountain.
If you are NOT a season pass holder:
1. Pay the $10 registration (and raffle tickets in advance if desired) on eventbrite.
2. Buy Crystal lift ticket online using this link.
3. The day of the event (March 5th) you will need to go to the ticket window and provide a completed SheJumps eventbrite registration along with proof of online ticket purchase from Crystal mountain to pick up your lift ticket for the day.
If you are a season pass holder: You just pay the $10 registration and that is it!
Schedule for the day:
8:00 – 9:30 a.m. Check-in on Heritage Level in the Day Lodge. We will also have some tutu making materials. Neon colors are onsies are encouraged. A prize will be given for the best outfit of the day.
9:30 a.m. Group photo on the Patio in front of the Day Lodge
9:45 – 11:30 a.m. Girls Ski/Snowboard Together
9:45 – 11 a.m. Sessions 1, 2 & 3 (led by She Jumps)
Session 1: Riding off piste info session (10 ladies max)
Session 2: Intro to backcountry info session (15 ladies max)
Session 3: Mogul skiing info session (10 ladies max)
9:45 – 11:30 a.m. Youth Scavenger Hunt
11:30 – 12:30 p.m. Meet at the mid-mountain Campbell Basin Lodge for lunch (intermediate and above access only), Beginners meet at Cascade Grill or Bullwheel for lunch – lunch not included
12:30 – 3:30 p.m. Mountain-wide scavenger hunt, get out and ski/snowboard with the girls
1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Refresher or first-time beacon training with Crystal Mountain Ski Patrol outside Campbell Basin Lodge
2:00 p.m. Group hike up the King for advanced intermediate & above (weather & conditions permitting)
3:30- 5:00 p.m. Apres party, prize drawing and fun gathering at the Right Angle Sports Shop
Session info:
Session 1: Riding off piste info session (10 ladies max) Informational ride session for ladies who are intermediate riders who would like to start skiing off the groomers. All ages welcome, however, ability as described below is required to get maximum benefit from the session: comfortable linking turns on blues and some blacks in various conditions (packed powder, ice, powder) and various speeds (comfortable stopping in control when desired).
Session 2: Intro to backcountry info session (15 ladies max) Informational session for ladies who are intermediate/expert and want to learn more about skiing out of bounds. This session will cover what one might think about when considering adventuring out of bounds, what gear to bring and will touch up on other sources one should reference before going out. We will NOT be going out of bounds during this session, we will however, point out an area where you can and talk you through what you should think about.
Session 3: Mogul skiing info session (10 ladies max) Informational session on how to ride moguls. This session will cover what are the things to think about when trying to ski a mogul line, what one can do to practice to feel more comfortable in the bumps.
